About Me
Brandon Rivas is a Trombonist, Composer, Keyboardist, and Vocalist whose music bridges the worlds of jazz, pop, and funk. Brandon’s work updates the traditions of jazz instrumentalists and vocalists such as Chet Baker and J.J. Johnson, reflected through the lens of contemporary music and production values. Brandon is a fixture on the Long Island jazz scene, performing regularly with the Long Island Sound Big Band and in appearances at the Jazz Loft, the Living Room and other Long Island jazz venues. As a student Brandon has performed at the San Sebastian Jazz Festival in Spain, and will be performing on tour in New Orleans this May. He has arranged and composed pieces for ensembles ranging from small groups to big bands, and sings with the Long Island Sound Vocal Jazz choir. Brandon Rivas is a graduating senior in the MTEP (Music Technology, Entrepreneurship and Production) program at LIU Post.
